Okay let's be real, being pregnant is a miracle... there is no other word that defines pregnancy. To grow another human being was beyond an honor and is truly my greatest accomplishment. "Making the decision to have a child is momentous, it is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body...." -Elizabeth Stone During my pregnancy I chose to read A-LOT! below is a list of books that I really enjoyed reading...
1. The Complete Organic Pregnancy. -Deirdre Dolan and Alexandra Zissu
2. The Natural Pregnancy Book. -Aviva Jill Romm, MD
3. HypnoBirthing. -Marie F. Morgan, M.Ed., M.Hy.
I also signed up for babycenter.com and got amazing information on their website about pregnancy and parental information. It was also great to read about what might have seemed "un-normal" during pregnancy; but only come to find out, that it was completely normal...
One of my very favorite applications during pregnancy was "Pregnancy ++" it is a free app. that described each day of pregnancy and gives tons of information on the development of your baby. I loved reading about what was going on in my body daily!
HypnoBirthing...
During pregnancy I also chose to use HypnoBirthing to assist my mental, physical and emotional training for labor. I found HypnoBirthing to be amazing.... especially going through all of these new experiences for the very first time. Having done Hypnobirthing comforted me and made me feel I had some tools to cope with everything that comes along with childbirth. During my HypnoBirthing Classes I felt so connected both with Rob and our baby... It was one of my very favorite moments of pregnancy and I still enjoy looking back on photos and reminiscing about preparing for baby Jaxton.
Juice Plus+
(this really should be blog in itself and I am positive I will be posting more about Juice Plus+) I started taking Juice plus when I was 9 years young. I have continued to take it ever since. It is an incredible product! I knew that even when I did my best to "eat right." [which for me was very hard because I do not like very many vegetables.] I was not eating the variety and amount of fresh fruits and vegetables that I should have been... and that was where juice plus made sense to me... It helped me bridge the gap from what I WAS eating and what I SHOULD eat. Juice Plus+ is Whole Food Nutrition that carries a "Nutrition Facts" label. It is NOT a "Supplement." Juice Plus+ has the science to back it and the research with over 32 double blinded studies. A Prenatal vitamin is recommended to take during pregnancy due to the folic acid requirements you need while growing a baby. With four Juice Plus capsules you can meet that requirement and benefit from so many other nutrients. Rather than the side effects that come along with prenatal vitamins. (ie constipation, diarrhea, upset stomach)
I mean really who wants to go through these while also going through pregnancy.... come on!?

Complete Nutrition....
Juice Plus+ also makes a product called "Complete." This product is one of my very favorites because I use it with everything... ( Smoothies, baking, hot chocolate, I make ice-cream with it, heck I even have made pancakes with it!) Along with Juice Plus+ It really does "Complete" your nutrition. The Complete has 13 grams of plant protein (that's right is vegan & Gluten free) and comes in two delicious flavors... Vanilla and Dutch Chocolate. (real Chocolate) It has 8 grams of fiber and 0 grams of fat. But the best part is it also has the research and studies to back it! Information on Placenta Encapsulation....
it's not weird, freaky or gross... it's simply science and every mammal does it! The placenta is composed of beneficial hormones, chemicals, iron, and proteins. Some of the most important benefits of placenta encapsulation are, Fatigue, Lactation, Pain Relief and Hormone Levels. I Loved the way Placenta encapsulation made me feel and noticed a difference when taking them and not taking them! My Midwife worked through a center called indigo dragon where I went for acupuncture, chiropractic, massage, midwifery, and Placenta Encapsulation. Check them out at www.indigodragoncenter.com
This is the information I read when choosing to do Placenta Encapsulation. This link will help explain the science, research and benefits behind placenta encapsulation.

Placenta encapsulation is extremely beneficial for a happy postpartum experience. Many of the common complaints after child birth can be addressed by ingesting the placenta pills.
Fatigue - Fatigue is one of the most common complaints of new moms. Traditional Chinese Medicine has used placenta in treatments for fatigue among men, women and children for centuries. Iron deficiency is linked to extreme fatigue and some studies have shown a link to postpartum depression. The placenta is a rich, natural iron store. Placenta encapsulation is an ideal way to replace iron loss from giving birth.
