wild & free

"All good things are wild and free!"

As Jaxton continues to grow and his character develops, I realize even more the importance of allowing  kids to be wild and free. As a first time mom it is easy to get caught up in the storm of the newest gear and toys for kids. I too was the typical mom that couldn't leave Target without getting Jaxton a "little something." Of course I'd be in a store by myself and I'd see something that I knew he would love and or reminded me of him and in my cart it went; but as I'm learning to navigate through this beautiful journey as a mother I have come to realize that its truly the best things in life are free!

One lesson I have learned is that its these simple moments when I see Jaxton the happiest. Running naked and free at the beach. Throwing rocks, digging in the sand and chasing birds makes him smile more than any toy, game or materialistic object money can buy. Life is so simple yet we as humans can make it so difficult.

I want my children to know that this earth is God's gift to us and that we should constantly be appreciative of it. Nurture it, be amazed by it, love it, explore it, learn from it, and protect it. The older my children get the more I see them appreciating the beauty of this planet. I see my daughters face light up during the sunsets and she makes it a big deal with her friends to go watch the sunsets on the cliffs. Jaxton too will run out and say goodnight to the sun, while waving goodbye. To watch them push pause and take a moment to just value and appreciate mother nature is something I always dreamt to see.  "We are blessed!"

"Through simplicity comes great beauty!"

Rob and Jaxton have such an incredible bond. I just love watching them together. These are some of my favorite moments from our everyday life of them simply [being them.] Appreciating one another and loving the simple things in life.
